"Write the vision and make it plain." — Habakkuk 2:2

God has written a message on your heart. Someone out there needs to read it, hear it, hold it in their hands. My job is to help you get it out of your head, off your hard drive, and into the world — looking every bit as powerful as the message it carries.

Built for the Christian Creative Community

Whether you're a first-time author or a seasoned pastor with a new resource to publish, I understand your audience, your message, and the standards your readers expect.

Christian Authors

Fiction, nonfiction, devotionals, and Bible studies — I help your book reach the readers God has placed on your heart.

Pastors & Ministry Leaders

Sermon-based books, church resources, discipleship materials — I help your message travel further than Sunday morning.

Indie Self-Publishers

You've written the book. Now let's give it the professional presentation it deserves — cover, interior, and launch-ready.

Coaches & Speakers

A well-designed book is the most powerful business card you can hand someone after a keynote. Let's build yours.

You've Got a God-Given Message. Getting It Published Is Another Story.

You didn't sign up to become a graphic designer, a typesetter, or a publishing expert. You signed up to write.

You've stared at Canva for three hours trying to make a cover that doesn't look like a church bulletin from 1997 — and you're still not happy with it.

You opened KDP for the first time and immediately closed it. The file requirements alone felt like reading a foreign language.

You hired someone on Fiverr. The cover came back looking like clip art. The "designer" hasn't responded in two weeks.

You've got a manuscript sitting in a drawer — or a folder on your desktop — that's been "almost ready" for six months. Maybe longer.

You found a publishing service that looked great until you saw the final invoice. Surprise fees have a way of showing up at the worst possible moment.

Your interior looks like it was formatted in Microsoft Word — because it was. Readers notice. Reviewers notice. It's costing you credibility.

Here's the truth: a poorly designed book doesn't just look bad — it undermines the message inside it. Readers make snap judgments. A cheap cover, an amateurish interior, a confusing publishing setup — these things tell your reader "this author didn't think their own work was worth investing in."

You've invested too much — in time, in prayer, in the writing itself — to let the packaging let you down at the finish line.

That's exactly why Living Lights Media exists.

Jason Sisam

Hi, I'm Jason Sisam

I'm a Christian author, pastor, keynote speaker, and graphic designer — and I've personally walked every step of the publishing journey you're on right now. I've stared at a blank page, written the manuscript, designed my own covers, formatted my own interiors, navigated KDP, and watched my books go live. I know exactly what it costs — in time, money, and heart — because I've paid every one of those costs myself.

I write Western fiction under the pen name J.B. Sisam (the Jacob Creek Series), and I've coached writers through the Minnesota Christian Writers Guild, spoken at events on the craft and ethics of writing, and developed publishing tools used by authors across the country. When I say I understand your world, I'm not speaking theoretically.

My real passion is the author with a God-given message who just needs a trusted guide for the last mile — someone who will tell them the truth, do the work with excellence, and not disappear when the project gets complicated.

I Can Walk Every Step With You

You don't have to figure out which piece you need and hire five different people to deliver it. The entire path from manuscript to marketplace is covered here.

Maybe it's polished. Maybe it's rough. Either way — it exists, and that's what matters. This is where we start.

Manuscript Critique • Proofreading
2

Your Manuscript Gets Ready

4

Your Interior Gets Formatted Properly

Print and ebook both. Industry standards, not Microsoft Word. The inside of your book should feel as professional as the outside.

Publishing Setup & Launch
This is the moment. You hold a published book with your name on it.

You can engage any single service on its own — or let me walk the whole path with you. Most first-time authors don't know which piece they're missing until we talk. That's what the free discovery call is for.

What Changes When You Get the Presentation Right

After publishing my own books and helping other authors do the same, I've seen it happen over and over: a great message locked inside a book that nobody picks up. Not because the writing is bad — but because the book never got the fighting chance it deserved.

Cover design isn't decoration. It's your first sales pitch. Interior formatting isn't a technicality — it's the reading experience. Publishing setup isn't just a checkbox — done wrong, it costs you money in returns, lost rankings, and reformatting fees down the road.

When all three are done right, something shifts. Your book looks like it belongs. Readers trust it. They pick it up. They finish it. They recommend it.

"I guarantee to deliver better results than you're currently experiencing trying to go it on your own — or I'll fix it until you're satisfied, or refund 100% of your money."

— Jason Sisam

I only take on a handful of clients at a time — because every project deserves my full attention.

"My name is K.C. Leigh, and, with the exceptional skills of Jason Sisam, I've just published my first Christian mystery novel, On the Wave of a New Beginning. I was ready to publish with Amazon KDP, but I still needed someone to proofread and typeset my manuscript for me. A fellow author, Tammy Melton (Legacy Ministries in Tyrone, Georgia), recommended Jason to me after she utilized his services on her Relationships book. Not only did Jason proofread my manuscript, but he did a thorough edit on it for no extra cost! I absolutely love the finished copy of my book, and I don't think it would have looked half as good without his valuable assistance. Jason is an expert in his field, and I will recommend him to my writing groups."
K.C. Leigh — Author, On the Wave of a New Beginning
"Jason created a website for our group. One of the things which I appreciated most about Jason was that he took the time to find out what I wanted and put together a website which worked well for us, instead of just using a stock format. He also made sure that the website would look good on a mobile platform as well as on a computer. I have been very pleased with his work, his professionalism, and his attention to detail. I would recommend him to anyone looking to build a website."

My Commitments to You

What You Can Always Count On

01

No Over-Promising

I won't tell you I can do something I can't. What I say I'll deliver, I'll deliver — on time and on budget.

02

No Hidden Fees

Your quote is your price. You'll never open an invoice and find charges you didn't agree to upfront.

03

The Double-Check Standard

Every deliverable is reviewed, scrutinized, and signed off by me personally before it reaches you. My name is on this work.

04

Creative Freedom

I ask for the latitude to create something that will actually perform in the marketplace — not just look nice in a vacuum.

A Note on AI and Your Book

I've spoken and written extensively on the ethics of AI in Christian publishing. My position: AI is a tool, not a ghostwriter. Your message — the one God placed on your heart — comes from you. My job is to help you shape, design, and deliver it. I use AI as a research and workflow aid where appropriate, but your creative work belongs to you, and I will always tell you how and where any AI tools are used in your project.

Questions & Answers

What People Usually Ask First

Do you only work with Christian authors?

I specialize in Christian content and that's where I do my best work. If you write in a different genre and our values are a good fit, I'm open to a conversation — reach out and let's talk.

How long does a project typically take?

Proofreading runs 6–8 weeks. Manuscript critiques are 2–4 weeks. Cover design timelines are discussed on your discovery call based on the project scope. Turnaround details are confirmed in writing before we begin.

What format should I submit my manuscript in?

Microsoft Word (.docx) is preferred, though Google Docs is fine too. Please format your manuscript in Times New Roman, 12pt, double-spaced before submitting.

Do you offer payment plans?

Payment structures are negotiable and can be discussed on your discovery call. I want to work with you — not price you out.

Do you publish to platforms other than KDP?

Yes. While KDP is the most common, I can help you navigate IngramSpark and other platforms as well. We'll discuss the best distribution strategy for your book on our call.

Can I see examples of your design work?

Absolutely. Portfolio samples are available on request — covers, interior layouts, and logos. Just mention it when you fill out the project form.

Your Message Is Worth Getting Right

I'm only accepting a limited number of projects at a time. When the slots fill, the door closes until I'm ready to open it again. If you're here and the form is live — there's room for you.
